tvN’s “K2” premiered over the weekend to an awaiting audience…and the response is outstanding! The much talked about drama has been promoted by the network for months, and this time all the hype has been worth it.
Drama PD Kwak Jung Hwan addressed the fans in an interview with TV Report and thanked everyone for their enthusiasm. He also praised the drama’s main leads, Ji Chang Wook and Yoona, for their hard work and excellent portrayal of their characters. Kwak said “Ji Chang Wook and YoonA are actors that will become even better in the future. There is a lot of potential for development. Both of them are putting their all into giving a passionate performance. I think they’ll both receive a lot of praise for their acting in this show.”
The PD also went on to describe how brutal shooting is for the pair. Apparently, both actors declined stunt doubles and are doing all of their own scenes. In the process, they are getting a little bit banged up. Kwak stated “They are both throwing themselves into the work, without caring about possibly getting hurt, breaking anything, or getting scraped up.”
Having watched the first two episodes, I am not surprised to hear such praise or commentary. The scenes Kwak is referring to, seemed very real and the most inexperienced viewer could tell that it was in fact the real actor, not a body double, that was doing the scene. It certainly does make a difference in the final product. “K2” is off to a stellar start, and I hope the momentum continues.
