2016 is turning out to be the year of the dramas. Another one to put on the must watch list at the end of the year is tvN’s “Goblin.” Kim Go Eun (“Cheese in the Trap”) will join Lee Dong Wook and Gong Yoo in the supernatural series.
The drama will be written by Kim Eun Sook, best known for “Secret Garden”, “Heirs” and “Descendants of the Sun.” The network has confirmed a December premier “It’s true that ‘Goblin plans to air some time in December. It was supposed to air earlier. The formation wasn’t delayed but rather, because ‘K2’s (Ji Chang Wook drama) schedules were switched around, it will start airing in December.”
Gong Yoo is set to play a servant who turns into a goblin that lives internally after he is betrayed and stabbed by his master but does not die. Lee Dong Wook will play a king who dies unwittingly and wakes up as the angel of death. The two characters end up meeting and living together and form a close friendship.
This premise definitely has me interested. The cast so far sounds outstanding, and I love the unconventional plot line. There hasn’t been much information on this project for a while and I was beginning to think that it has stalled. The network is obviously busy producing other dramas and it is good to hear that it is slowly moving along.
