Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun are headed to Palau and Spain to film “Legend of the Blue Sea.” Production for the drama stated ” The two of them are going to Palau and Spain for overseas filming of SBS’s new Wednesday/Thursday drama ‘Legend of the Blue Sea’. They will leave for Palau late August and go to Spain in September. Since the content of the drama involves exotic coasts and the title itself includes blue sea, they are leaving to film overseas.”
This drama is star studded all over. We have the writer of “My Love From The Star”, which is one of the biggest dramas to ever come out of Korea. Top that with two of the biggest stars and a mega supporting cast, and we have history in the making. This drama has barely begun production and has yet to even release details on the story, and people are already in great anticipation.
“Legend of the Blue Sea” is a fantasy romance between a fisherman/con-artist(Lee Min Ho) and a mermaid (Jun Ji Hyun). The story is based on one of Korea’s first romance storybooks. The book tells a tale about a real life fisherman names Kim Dam Nyeong, who set a mermaid free after she was caught by fishermen. Lee Min Ho will tackle two roles in the drama. He will play Kim Mu (Kim Dam Nyeong’s son) in the Jeseon dynasty, and also a present day con-artist.
The story gets more interesting as more details begin to trickle down the grapevine. This will be a good way for Lee Min Ho to wrap up his career and put it on hold while he is serving his military service. I am imagining that the hype for this will get completely out of control as the time draws near to the premier in late Fall.
