KBS has finally announced the cast for their October Monday/Tuesday drama “Man Living in our House.” It took some time for this one to come together, but all the pieces are now in place.
Soo Ae (“Mask”) and Kim Young Kwang (“D-Day”) will be our leads, while Jo Bo Ah (“All About My Mom”) and Lee Soo Hyuk (“Lucky Romance”) will round off the main supporting cast. Yoo Seung Ho (“Remember”) was initially offered the lead role as the stepfather, but ultimately turned it down.
The drama is about a flight attendant named Hong Na Ri, who returns home after her mother passes to find a much younger man living in her house, claiming to be her stepfather. This is not your typical romantic comedy for sure. The plot is a bit unorthodox, however, it is based on a web-toon by popular artist Yoo Hyun Sook, who is best known for co-creating “Flower Boy Next Door”.
Based on the character description, Kim Young Kwang was the absolute right choice for the male lead. His role in “Pinocchio” reminds me a bit of the character he is slated to play in this drama. I am a little disappointed to see Lee Soo Hyuk in another supporting role. He does them well, but I think it’s time to break out of the mold. He carries more than enough stage presence, and the charisma is endless. I do not understand the need to always plays the second guy. I am hoping he chooses better for his next project.
“Man Living In Our House” will begin filming this month, and will premier October 24th, after “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” wraps up it’s run.
