There is a new projet on the way from Yeon Sang Ho, who most recently achieved box office records with “Train to Busan” starring Gong Yoo. This new project is also in a form of a film, for which the leads have already been confirmed. Ryu Seung Ryong (“The Sound of a Flower”) and Shim Eun Kyung (“Missing You”) will play father and daughter in “Psychokinesis.”
The movie is about a man (Ryu Seung Ryong) who gains the power to move objects with his mind. He then uses his special ability to help others, including his daughter (Shim Eun Kyung).
The unconventional plot is not surprising, Yeon does them well. If this film is even half as good as “Train to Busan” then it will already be great. I love seeing out of the box projects from talented directors and writers. Seeing something we haven’t seen before or trying something new always brings a sense of excitement. Choosing to cast like this is also a bonus. Ryu Seung Ryong is a veteran in the industry and always brings his A-game. Shim Eun Kyung, although young come with years of experience as well. She transitioned well from being a child star, and this project will most likely sky rocket her already thriving career.
“Psychokinesis” will begin filming early 2017.
